Crafted from the highest grade of mohair fibre, Superkid Mohair Yarn comes from the first shearing of Angora goats which makes it luxuriously soft and gentle on the skin! Comes in solid and melange colours. Superkid mohair yarn is a great choice for next to skin garments like scarves, socks, beanies due to it's exceptionally soft handfeel. It has a silk like lustre and a fluffy texture that can be brushed out after knitting. Add an end of our MERINO CASHMERE YARN for heavier knits or make a statement with beautiful lightweight piece.

Works well with… 
Open stitches and lacework to show off yarn. Recommended to knit in a loose tension to highlight the nature of the yarn.

  1. Hand feel swatch is 1 end of MARSHMELLOW knitted on standard domestic on tension 7.
  2. Creative swatch is fair isle stripe in all colours on standard gauge.

HOW THICK IS THIS YARN?

Our yarn thickness is measured using the NM count, the industry standard in the knitting world. This differs from ply, which is commonly used for hand knitting yarns. To help you visualize the yarn's thickness, we've compared it to everyday items.

This yarn is similar thickness to waxed dental floss but with a brushed fluffy texture.

DETAILS

Finishing:

Use steam press to set the shape then hand wash at 30℃ for 2-3 minutes for shrinkage.

Washing:
Hand wash only in cold or lukewarm not exceeding 30℃ using neutral soap.
Do not bleach.
Do not rub, wring or tumble dry.
Iron at low heat.
Dry flat in the shade.
Dry cleanable.

Yes we can! Slide into our DM's on instagram or email us at info@knitinprogress.com and we'll sort that out for you. We're open to feedback so if there is demand for larger cones we'll certainly add it in the future.

How accurate are the colours?

We do our best to ensure the colours displayed on the website are precise however they are photographic representations only. If you are unsure of a colour, it's best to reach out to us for assistance.

How long will it take to receive my order?

What is your return policy?

We want you to love your purchase so if it’s not what you expected, we are happy to refund – no stress!

We have a 30 day return policy, get in touch with us at info@knitinprogress.com so we can process it for you. Please ensure the yarns are returned to us in their original condition and weight. In addition to a refund we can also provide you with store credit or exchange on purchases that meet our return standards. As we are a small business, we cannot refund return postage costs.

  • Can I use your yarns to hand knit, crochet or weave?

    Of course! We have stock a range of thicknesses from super fine to chunkier yarns for all your creative projects.

  • How do I know what size yarn is right for my machine?

    We’ve done all the groundwork so you don’t need to!

    Scroll up to view the ‘MACHINE SUGGESTION’ section where we have machine and knit recommendations for each yarn.

  • What's the difference between hand and machine knit yarn?

    Machine knit yarn is coned yarn for even tension and has more strength than hand knit yarn. You can use both interchangeably but the biggest difference would be the stretch and strength machine knitting yarn has.
