HOW THICK IS THIS YARN?

Our yarn thickness is measured using the NM count, the industry standard in the knitting world. This differs from ply, which is commonly used for hand knitting yarns. To help you visualize the yarn's thickness, we've compared it to everyday items.

This yarn is similar thickness to cooked spaghetti.

WHAT CAN I MAKE?

Natural Alpaca yarn is the thickest yarn in the range. Undyed alpaca and wool fibre is wound around a durable cotton core to make a breathable yarn with great insulating properties. Perfect for people who find wool too itchy or want a warm knit without the weight. Ideal yarn for pieces to keep you warm and cosy like jumpers, socks, head warmers.

Works well with…
Openwork like looser tension and lacework highlight the subtle brushed texture of the yarn. Pair with traditional winter patterns like cabling to make the ultimate winter piece.
