Dry and delicate monofilament from Italy is one of the most fun yarns to knit with. It's transparent quality creates some magical outcomes. Monofilament yarn is best used as an interlude, a beautiful disruption to a solid knitting in any piece! It's composition makes it suitable also for post treatments like heat transfer printing.

Works well with… 
Jersey will maximise the transparency element while double bed stitches like full needle will create a fun spongey texture. Either way we recommend to knit minimum 2 ends as the monofilament is a super fine and delicate yarn, and 2 ends means you can knit stress free for longer. If you want to knit 1 end, knit sparingly!  

  1. Hand feel swatch is 2 ends of WHITE GLASS knitted on standard domestic on tension 0.
  2. Creative swatch is layered short row tucks knitted in WHITE GLASS, TANGERINE and AURORA in standard gauge. 

Standard domestics: Minimum 2 ends due to delicate nature of yarn.
Dubied 7gg -12gg: Minimum 2 ends due to delicate nature of yarn.

Recommended for immediate - skilled knitters due to fineness of yarn.

Cover cone with stocking when knitting, it helps to regulate the tension.

HOW THICK IS THIS YARN?

Our yarn thickness is measured using the NM count, the industry standard in the textile world. This differs from ply, which is commonly used for hand knitting yarns. To help you visualize the yarn's thickness, we've compared it to everyday items.

This yarn is similar thickness to sewing thread, fine and delicate!

DETAILS

Finishing:
Iron after knitting to set shape then hand wash at 30℃ for 2-3 minutes for shrinkage.

Washing:
Hand wash only in cold or lukewarm not exceeding 30℃ using neutral soap.
Do not bleach or tumble dry.
Iron at low heat with piece of cloth separating knit and iron.

How accurate are the colours?

What is your return policy?

We want you to love your purchase so if it’s not what you expected, we are happy to refund – no stress!

We have a 30 day return policy, get in touch with us at info@knitinprogress.com so we can process it for you. Please ensure the yarns are returned to us in their original condition and weight. In addition to a refund we can also provide you with store credit or exchange on purchases that meet our return standards. As we are a small business, we cannot refund return postage costs.

  • Can I use your yarns to hand knit, crochet or weave?

    Of course! We have stock a range of thicknesses from super fine to chunkier yarns for all your creative projects.

  • How do I know what size yarn is right for my machine?

    We’ve done all the groundwork so you don’t need to!

    Scroll up to view the ‘MACHINE SUGGESTION’ section where we have machine and knit recommendations for each yarn.

  • What's the difference between hand and machine knit yarn?

    Machine knit yarn is coned yarn for even tension and has more strength than hand knit yarn. You can use both interchangeably but the biggest difference would be the stretch and strength machine knitting yarn has.
