A traditional Japanese yarn dating back 1300 years, it is made from wood pulp cut into thin tape like strips. It knits up an uniquely paper-y texture.. oh and it's washable!

Composition: 100% Japanese Paper
Weight: 50g (625 metres) 100g (1250 metres) 200g (2500 metres)
Yarn Count: 1/12.5nm

WHAT CAN I MAKE?

Japanese paper yarn is a fascinating yarn, it is soft yet structured, fragile yet durable. It's uses can range widely from clothing to decorative wall weavings, coasters, you name it. It is UV resistant and has natural wicking properties making it an ideal yarn for all your summer projects!

Works well with…
Single jersey stripe in fun summery stripe combos! Avoid double bed knitting and single bed structures that put too much strain on the yarn.

HOW THICK IS THIS YARN?

Our yarn thickness is measured using the NM count, the industry standard in the textile world. This differs from ply, which is commonly used for hand knitting yarns. To help you visualize the yarn's thickness, we've compared it to everyday items.

This yarn is similar thickness to uncooked spaghetti, but flat and tape like.

MACHINE SUGGESTION
